M.A.D. FLAVOURS is a talent competition curated to showcase Melbourne’s emerging talent on a world class stage. The overall objective is to invest in the development of Victoria’s artists through exposure to the entertainment industry.
Melbourne is celebrated worldwide for being a city which has embraced and nurtured some of the most vibrant, innovative, creative, exciting, diverse and genre-bending music, arts and dance scenes across all cultures, backgrounds and ages.
This year, we’ve collaborated with our friends from the City of Melbourne & Library at the Dock to bring you the AGT- MUSIC, ARTS & DANCE (M.A.D.) FLAVOURS Competition. It’s fresh, it’s new and we want to give Melbourne’s emerging artists the platform to do what they do best.
If they impress the Judges (a.k.a The Chefs) and our audience (YOU!), the winner will walk away with 20 hundred dollar bills ($AUD 2,000) on the night and a host of other prizes.

We know that Melburnians have good artistic taste and they know when creatives exhibit M.A.D. FLAVOUR. So come through for an evening in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD at the extraordinary Performance Space – Library at the Dock, Docklands at Federation Square to rally behind your F(L)AVOURite artists. And for the M.A.D. FLAVOURS’ inaugural launch, our seat is on us, but you have to register as seats are limited. Oh, and we’d be out of our minds if we didn’t let you buy your own drinks, so bring a few dollar dollar bills y’all.

We’re rolling out the red carpet to welcome you to the talent competition as our M.A.D. FLAVOURS V.I.P. Guests! Upon arrival, make sure you get yourself a lil’ somethin’-somethin’ to sip on from the bar while you vibe out and enjoy the M.A.D. FLAVOURS red carpet experience. Our professional photographers will be available to take as many red carpet shots as you want.
THE MAIN COURSE: SHOWTIME
The main course will comprise of 10 Finalists who will be selected through an audition process to compete at the M.A.D. FLAVOURS Finale on Saturday night, 7 September, 2019 at Deakin Edge, Federation Square.
The winner will walk away with 20 hundred dollar bills ($AUD 2,000) on the night and a host of other prizes.
THE DESSERT
Join us after the show for the AFTER PARTY! For those of you with a weakness for sweetness, we’ve got you covered! Come and experience the M.A.D. FLAVOURS after party experience on us.

The judging panel for the M.A. D. FLAVOURS Competition will consist of 4 entertainment industry professionals we like to refer to as The Chefs.
THE TASTE MAKERS
Melburnians with M.A.D. OPINIONS and good taste we’re talking to you. Our audience, a.k.a. The Taste Makers, will help the Judges throughout the evening to determine who walks away with The Bag (prizes) and the title of M.A.D. FLAVOURS’ FIRST CHAMPION/S ! The MC will test the Melburnian Taste Makers to assess whether they are feeling the vibe for each act. So if you make it to the top 10 as a finalist, make sure you bring your crew to hold you down.

- Creativity – Does the act stand out and why is their M.A.D. FLAVOUR better than the rest?
- Originality – Got FLAVOUR? What’s Your Recipe? If so, show us!
- Presentation – It’s Melbourne, so dress EXTRA – Each act should show The Chefs that they understand their brand, style and present themselves accordingly!
- Artistic Talent – Self-explanatory.
- Use of Stage – Each act should keep the The Chefs engaged by making good/clever use of the stage space!
- Crowd Engagement – At the end of the day, it all comes down to good taste, and the Melburnian Taste Makers know what’s good and they’ll let you know on the night!
